Circle Art
This is a fun little art quilt to practice the technique of inset circles.
The background is made more interesting by the addition of skinny strips randomly sewn at odd angles. You can follow the pattern exactly, add more strips or reduce the number to what “feels” right to you. Finished size of the quilt will be approximately 18” by 22”; size will vary according to the strips included.
Patriot Star
Just in time for 4th of July fireworks this 54”x54” quilt will be a hit at the picnic!
Foundation pieced kaleidoscope star blocks set in red, white and blue chain blocks. Designed to introduce students to foundation paper piecing, these stars “float” in the block assuring no points are cut off by the seam allowances.
Slice of Florida
Featured in Quilters Newsletter magazine the award winning, Slice of Florida, is a refreshing take on the orange peel block. A clean modern look from a traditional block, this quilt features a clever trapunto method in its appliqued inner border.
Machine Turned Applique
Use the latest techniques and tools to create applique by machine that looks like traditional needle turn applique. Offered as two unique classes, a basic technique workshop, Simple Flower and as pictured above a full wall-hanging project, Kitty’s Window Garden.
Color Mine Bling!
Two classes in one session! Learn some new ways to add color to your quilts with markers, gel pens and pencils. Then apply crystals, beads and other shiny things to add the WOW! to your quilts.
Workshop will be a lecture/demo with a make it/take it project that will allow you to try out different coloring and embellishment techniques. Choose from a wide assortment of coloring media, crystals and beads to complete your mini- quilt.
It’s All For Show
Is your quilt ready for the quilt show? What does the judge look for? Learn how to apply a show quality binding, block a quilt so that it hangs true and square and apply the perfect show hanging sleeve. Follow these lessons and other tips and tricks to make your quilt stand out at a judged show.
Fancy Finish
Quilt top is done, so now what? Multiple mitered borders, piping, trims and unusual edge treatments will add some wow factor to your quilt creations. In this class we will explore several different border and binding treatments to finish your quilt with a flourish!
Artistic Finishes
Sometimes a traditional border and binding is not what you need for an art quilt. In this class we will create a small art quilt and then explore several edge finishes to showcase your work of art!
Digital Design Wall – EQ8
So you have EQ8 or want it but you are not quite sure what to do with it? This powerful application can take you into design nirvana if you know the basics. In this 2 part class we will cover the basic layout set up and quickly begin to design quilts. Leave this class with the confidence to turn your computer into a digital design wall!
Custom Cuts – the new world of Computerized Cutting
In this class, Candace West will introduce you to the types of computerized cutting machines and software programs that are available. We will discuss the many ways these machines can be used in quilt making. From appliqué, to template making, and embellishment, these machines could be your answer to custom cuts for original quilts that are uniquely yours.
Quilted Corset
The Quilted Corset is a simple design, with only side and shoulder seams, perfect for showcasing quilt designs. In class, we will cover corset fitting, adding structure with boning, and how to use eyelets for the lacing system. No UFO’s allowed in this class; you will leave with a finished corset!

A fun hands-on cutting laboratory with your computerized cutting machine. Students will cut a variety of materials and learn what settings work best for each material. Practical applications using our newly cut projects will be covered in this fun filled class. Become one with your cutting machine and use it to its full potential!
Leather Applique
Here is your chance to sample the hot new trend in quilting by learning how to add leather to your toolbox. In this workshop, Candace West will guide you through leather choices, sewing tips and tricks while making a dynamic leather appliqué quilt square.
Stencils, Templates and Stamps! Oh My!!
A hands-on cutting class with your cutting machine. Working with various materials we will create quilting stencils, templates and even stamps for fabric painting!

Presented in two class versions; a lecture trunk show filled with tips and best practices for quilted pieces, and hands-on sewing workshop to create a sample set of techniques for a reference library of couture skills. A fun mixed media mini quilt to learn how to incorporate the ancient art of chainmail weaving into your quilts. In this hands-on class, you will weave a European 4 and 1 chainmail unit and learn the best ways to attach it to your quilt art creations. Embellish your quilt with more heavy metal techniques using tools for setting metal rivets and grommets to give your quilt that unexpected flair!
Professional Drawing Skills for Quilters
